James Dickens
has retired and is enjoying his time touring around Europe but is on hand in a consultancy role to the Team (as time permits) and who knows you may even see him about to help out inbetween his adventures. James is well known and respected in the marine industry. His childhood
passion for boats grew as he raced Hornets, whilst working every
hour he could in the local chandlery shop. On to a three year college
diploma in yacht and boatyard management in Southampton. From there
to manage a boat yard in the Channel Islands for four years, (Fairline
dealers). Back to the UK to build boats on the Thames then down
to the Solent to sell Hardy, Orkney, Birchwood, Carver and Azimut
in Southampton for seven years.
He then moved to Marine Sales in
Poole as Sales Manager for Formula, Proline and the Fairline range
for nearly five years, then Offshore Powerboats in Lymington, as Sales
Manager, selling Broom, Nimbus and Storebro for five years. All these
companies had busy general brokerage business. Finally he left to start his
own company in 2004. Now with a growing reputation as "That chap on You tube that talks about boats"!! Now taking a back seat James is in the wings to help and support whenever the need arises. Whilst touring James can be availble to assist in the process. Although James is enjoying his retirement he is delighted to have formed this union to ensure his hard work and reputation will continue.
